Interview with Dr. Pamala Hutcherson
Dhylles: Who is Pamala Hutcherson?
Pamala Hutcherson: Pamala Hutcherson is a Winner and a Survivor. She’s victorious in all things simply because there was a time when she felt no victory at all. Pamala is humble, confident, graceful and a life-long learner. Pamala is a empowerment and motivational speaker, because that’s where she finds her peace and her passion. She is all things God. She’s a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
Dhylles: When did you realize you were born an accomplishment?
Pamala: It took me a while to realize my self-worth and that I was born an accomplishment. My parents divorced during my freshman year in high school. That was a truly hard time. For young women, we’re really figuring out who we are in high school. We have a love hate relationship with our growth and seeing my parents separate, my mother had a really hard adjustment during this period, it was hard. I realized my worth after I had my daughter in my mid-twenties. I realized I had something to offer. But it was only after I realized I now had this life to care for. It was one thing if I failed, but I would not let my daughter fail. Those were my early years of learning.
Now.. There’s really no stopping me! Realizing that I am fully and truly blessed and with these blessings, I walk in confidence in who I am, realizing that my experiences all made and shape who I am today. Imperfections, Mistakes and All – I am an Accomplishment!
Dhylles: How long did it take you to accept your imperfections and what held you back from accepting?
Pamala: To be honest, I’m still learning. If we’re honest with ourselves, we are all a work in progress. There will always be things that we don’t like. It’s about accepting those imperfections, acknowledging and choosing to make a change. That’s a life-long journey. We’re never complete. I don’t let my imperfections hold me back. I work on them. I better myself and better my craft. Whether it’s marriage, family, business, schools, etc., there will always be a place of change.
The key is: acknowledge it, accept it and make adjustments. There is only one perfect person and that is the person of Christ.
Dhylles: What comes to mind when you think of the word unconditional?
Pamala: Love comes to mind when I think of the word Unconditional. Not just love in the general sense, but love for who we are, what we do, how we do it. Love is defined by commitment. What are you committed to and why? Because then the word unconditional means you are committed to it forever, through the good and bad. Are you committed to you your marriage, your kids, your successes, etc. It’s a different way of looking at the word unconditional, but if you dig deeper it simply mean “No conditions on anything..
Dhylles: When did you learn to heal and forgive yourself for past mistakes and regrets?
Pamala: In order to heal, I had to learn to take the lesson, LEARN FROM IT and apply it. Why did I allow pain in in the first place? What did it teach me? How am I better? What will I allow to never occur again? I believe in learning from and accepting the bad and then making the appropriate adjustments
I don’t regret any of my past, my past was a pathway to my present and without my past, I would not be where I am today. Therefore, you must forgive in order to move on.
Dhylles: Thanks so much for sharing Pamala! I continuously celebrate you my sister!
